I listened to more than half of this book on audio but didn't like it, so didn't finish it. I watched the 1997 version of the movie years ago when I was around Lolita's age and remember thinking it was good and quite a sweet love story. Now in my late 20's, I didn't feel the same way about the book. No matter how poetically written it is, there's no getting away from the fact that Humbert is just a pedophile that lusts after young girls, or "nymphets" as he calls them. Although he never took advantage of Lolita against her will, there was something that just didn't sit right with me and made me uneasy.Moral issues aside, I found the book too long winded and a bit boring. I might watch the movie again and see how I still feel about that.
